As film festivals around the world migrate their screenings into online platforms due to the pandemic, so do their various film markets and events. Marche du Film, the business counterpart of the renowned Cannes Film Festival, will be holding its 2020 edition online from June 22 to June 26. 

In November 2019, FilmPhilippines engaged with the international production ALMOST PARADISE, which was filmed entirely in Lapulapu City, Cebu. Electric Entertainment Inc., led by renowned Fil-Am Hollywood writer and producer Dean Devlin (Independence Day, Godzilla, Stargate, etc.) produced the television series, with the line production partnership of ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation.American actor Christian Kane (The Librarians, Leverage, Angel) stars in ALMOST PARADISE as Alex Walker, a former US DEA agent who was forced into early retirement.

In its priority realignments for the balance of year 2020 in the light of the current Covid-19 crisis worldwide, the FilmPhilippines Office of the Film Development Council of the Philippines has suspended its Film Location Incentive Program (FLIP) effective April 30, 2020, and until further notice. The previous FLIP applications for its first cycle (complete submissions until April 30 th ) will be processed as scheduled.
